Discovering Deaf Worlds

Hello BC Deaf Community,

As we move into Fall weather here in Rochester, NY, it is tough not to day-dream about escaping to someplace more tropical.  I am excited to inform you of a unique opportunity to travel with Discovering Deaf Worlds to Costa Rica this winter.

Come join us on our adventures as we zip-line through the tree tops of the jungle on a Sky Trek, hike the active Arenal Volcano, and white water raft through the Savegre River.  You will also visit the Fernando Centeno Guell deaf school, Don Juan’s Eco-Farm, and spend a day with local deaf association ANASCOR to learn about their current projects focused on advocating for deaf people in Costa Rica.  A portion of your tour cost will be donated to each of the non-profits and schools you will visit.

On this journey, guides fluent in English, American Sign Language, LESCO (Costa Rican Sign Language) and Spanish will be available.  Your lead guides, are local members of ANASCOR who will teach you LESCO along the way!

Stay in luxurious 4-star hotels, and relax in private A/C transportation between cities.  Indulge in local Costa Rican cuisine and soak in the views of oceans, mountains, rainforests and beaches in one of the most bio-diverse countries in the world.

Registration deadline is January 20th 2010 and limited seats are available.  Journey dates are from February 4th – March 5th, 2011.  For full trip itineraries, registration forms, costs, and more information, please visit our website at: http://www.deafworlds.org/programs/journeys

Or contact us at ddwjourneys@discoveringdeafworlds.org for more information.

Please help us share this unique opportunity by sending this email/flyer to your network of friends, family and co-workers.  We hope to see your name on the roster for this winter as well!  Thank you for your time.

!Pura Vida!
