Astronaut makes first sign language address from Space Station

U.S. astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson recorded a video message from the the International Space Station using American Sign Language to help interest students with hearing impairments in careers in science and space exploration. “This story should be an avenue for deaf students — from children in kindergarten to college undergraduates to doctoral candidates — to see themselves belonging to this amazing thing called NASA and participating in scientific research and space exploration,”
