ASL & Deaf Studies would like to share the following information about volunteer opportunity during the Paralympic Games. Please feel free to share it with those who you think might be interested.
Volunteers for Canadian Human Rights Museum Campaign at Vancouver Olympics
Activities at the Museum Site:
– display of the museum model
– interactive display
– making a sign of a statement about human rights and having a photo taken
Volunteer’s Tasks:
– provide deaf/hard of hearing visitors with information about the museum
– assist those visitors with the activities and to fill out form (release agreement form for photo) when necessary
Qualifications:
– fluent in ASL
Schedule:
The site is open:
Sun. March 14: 12:30 p.m.- 9 p.m.
Mon. March 15: closed
Tue. March 16: closed
Wed. March 17: closed
Thurs. March 18: 12:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Fri. March 19: 12:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Sat. March 20: 12:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Sun. March 21: 12:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
8.5-hour shift, but negotiable.
24 hour advance notice is required
