EAD-GAP Program Announcement

widhh_top_header_01In 2008, The Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, with a one-time grant from the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance (MEIA), is piloting an assistive devices program for residents of British Columbia.

We have successfully completed the application process for those who have applied in 2008, we still have funds left but it is now very limited.

We are now re-opening and now accepting applications for the following BC Residents who are:
• Citizens who are Deaf/Blind
• Citizens who are Deaf, Deafened, and Hard of Hearing and are living outside of the Lower Mainland such as Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, Caribou, Okanagan, Kootenays, Stikine, Skeena-Queen Charlotte, Peace River and other Eastern, Central, Northern BC regions.
• Require the use of an assistive device to meet a functional goal, and;
• Be able to identify a functional goal you would like to achieve.

Start Date
WIDHH will accept applications on April 1st, 2010. The EAD-GAP program application process and equipment distribution starts on May 1st.
