Hornby Island Kids/Teens Camp – deadline is approaching (extended til Friday)
We have had lots of emails and phone calls worrying about missing the earlybird deadline. Don’t worry – we will continue to accept your applications until Friday 19th (postmarked) at the reduced rate. (so no worries). We are filling up quickly – so please send your forms in the mail ASAP, and send an email to: deafyouthtoday@gmail.com to let Forrest Smith know the application is in the mail.

Announcement: Special Guest at Hornby Kids/Teen Camp and Hornby Island Family Camp

Kyle Emard – Kyle was born and raised in California and is currently living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Kyle graduated from Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. with a Bachelor of Sciences in Deaf Studies and American Sign Language. He has traveled the world and visited many different countries – being exposed to different cultures, educational processes and hands-on experiences. Kyle’s passion is: ASL skits, ASL storytelling, ASL Wars and ASL more/more!

Kyle has a background in leadership development, outdoor education, recreation, sports training, real life scenarios/Training. He is currently working at the New Mexico School for the Deaf in Santa Fe as Student Life Educator where he works with Elementary and Middle school students. Kyle designs and facilitates programs for residential students that combine elements of everything the students need to be a productive citizen in today‘s society.

Kyle will share all these experiences during Hornby Island Kids/Teens Camp. Deaf Children and Youth will benefit greatly by Kyle’s leadership and skills. Families will also be entertained by Kyle at Hornby Island Family Camp (get ready for: CAMPFIRE TIME!!!)
