We are pleased to announce that Gary Birch has been appointed to serve as an Independent Director on the CAV Board of Directors. Many of you may know Gary, as he has been working actively as part of the Interim Board of CAV. Outside of his work with the CAV, Gary is the Executive Director of the Neil Squire Society and was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2010 in recognition of his work with that organization. An engineer by training, Gary has extensive knowledge of assistive technologies, which will be invaluable to the Board in setting up and overseeing the delivery of VRS.
We are currently seeking candidates to fill the second Independent Director position on the permanent Board. To this end, we have attached a job poster that we encourage you to distribute. As noted in the job poster, we are looking for an individual with a strong background in accounting and finance to serve in this position. We are accepting candidate applications until April 10, 2015.
