ASL VLOG:
Disabled Community Connection Network (DCCN) is a monthly communication and information group for people of all ages (16+) with any disability. This group is hosted by the North Shore Disability Resource Centre. This group is facilitated by and for people with disabilities.
The next group is February 15th, 4:00PM – 6:00PM. To facilitate accessible transit requirements the meeting will be held at PeerNet BC, #408-602 West Hastings, Vancouver. PeerNetBC is an accessible space, please let us know of any other accessibility requirements you might have in advance of the meeting.

The session will focus on the topic of “Having an invisible disability and the access barriers you face.” This session will feature Michael Todaro, a professional writer and English instructor in the Vancouver area. He writes primarily in the Information Technology and Medical sectors. In 2007 Michael was awarded his Masters of Rhetoric degree With Distinction, which he uses to argue for social change for persons with disabilities.

Invisible Disabilities Workshop – Feb 10, 10 am to 4 pm
Join filmmaker Cheryl Green for a daylong workshop on invisible disabilities. Hosted by Christ Church Cathedral, the workshop will cover issues related to invisible disability and the Christian faith and how these issues intersect with race, gender, and sexuality. Cheryl Green will also show her film, Who Am I To Stop It, an award-winning documentary on isolation, art, and transformation after brain injury.

Cost: $10 to cover the cost of lunch. Financial assistance is available for anyone who cannot pay the fee.
