It’s that time again for the annual posAbilities INCLUSION Art Show – a showcase of creativity, community and diverse abilities! Featuring over 100 artists you can purchase sculptures, pottery, paintings and everything in between from independent artists and studio collectives.

You’re invited to an evening of creativity, community and diverse abilities! Teaming up with Kudoz, join this online gathering to meet fellow artists and patrons of the show! Find out why artists choose to partner with INCLUSION and what it’s like to sell your art! To stretch your own creative muscles, don’t forget to grab your art supplies to follow along with featured artist, AJ Brown!

Here’s a little more about AJ:

AJ is Deaf. She has difficulty speaking and using sign language coherently because of a brain injury at birth. This brain injury caused her to be deaf and to have cerebral palsy. She uses a portable device which speaks when she types out written English. She also utilizes email and sign language interpreters to communicate. Creating is AJ’s way to express her soul-voice in a way to which others can hear and respond. When she creates, it feels like something spiritual guides her. She needs to continue on her spiritual path, and that is through expressing herself.

CHAIR YOGA in ASL – Starting in November

0

Movement is medicine. As we get older, we must keep our bodies moving. Chair Yoga is movement for the WHOLE body: Head, Arms, Legs, etc but most important, the SPINE. The spine is what truly determines our “age”.  A flexible spine keeps us youthful and healthy; alert and energetic; and helps to maintain good posture; especially as we age. Chair Yoga is a great and gentle way (and sometimes challenging, too) to improve both muscle strength and overall flexibility. Leonarda will also teach Breathing techniques to help calm the mind; especially during COVID times.

Class taught in ASL.

October at Outsiders and Others / Deborah Leigh

0

Deborah Leigh – Escape
October 2 – 25, 2020

Born in Prince George in the early 1950’s, Deborah Leigh didn’t start to draw until she was in her 50’s. She discovered her talent later in life. During a period of recovery from an illness, Deborah started to “doodle” to help her relax. These “doodles” quickly evolved in size and in subject matter. Black and white shapes and forms turned into full coloured surreal landscapes with creatures, people, foliage, trees, houses, and so on.
