WIDHH Job Club is a 2 weeks modular program. Facilitators will be delivering nine components. Sessions are tailored specifically to Deaf (D) and Hard of Hearing (HOH) individuals. Components include:

Job Club Workshop Descriptions
Week One
Disability Management: Monday, June 7
Deaf group: 9:30-11:30am, Presenter: Rytch
Hard of Hearing group: 1:30-3:30pm, Presenter: Marco
Learn how to manage your disability (hearing loss) in the workplace. You will learn how to ‘inform’ and “educate your employers” (on the job or during the interview) about how to work with your hearing loss/deafness.
Learning for Life: Tuesday, June 8
Deaf and Hard of Hearing group: 1:30-3:30pm, Presenter: Karen
Web-based employment skill building modules.
Workplace Expectations: Thursday, June 10
Deaf group: 9:30-11:30am, Presenter: Rytch
Hard of Hearing Group: 1:30 – 3:30pm, Presenter: Marco
Discuss what to expect in the workplace. Topics include team work, job place behaviour, grooming and appearance and effective communication on the job.
Job Interview Skills / Role Play: Friday, June 11 (Deaf Group)
Deaf: 9:30-11:30am and 12:30-2:30pm, Presenter: Rytch
Learn how to properly work your way through job interviews. You will be video taped and feedback will be given in the class to practice and perfect your skills. (The DVD will be destroyed after the workshop to protect confidentiality).
Week Two
Networking: Monday, June 14
Deaf group: 9:30-11:30am, Presenter: Rytch
Hard of Hearing group: 1:30-3:30pm, Presenter: Marco
Discuss the importance of networking and how to do it.
Communication and Approach: Tuesday, June 15 (Hard of Hearing Group)
Hard of Hearing group: 1:30-3:30pm, Presenter: Marco
Explore strategies on how to improve communication and resolve conflict with employers/co-workers/HR people.
Communication and Approach: Wednesday, June 16 (Deaf Group)
Deaf: 1:30-3:30pm, Presenter: Rytch
Explore strategies on how to improve communication and resolve conflict with employers/co-workers/HR people.
Job Interview Skills / Role Play: Friday, June 18 (Hard of Hearing Group)
