This position is about helping GVAD manage the office smoothly and professionally, and in alignment with BC guidelines.
What will you do?
Managing files, meetings, reminding us about deadlines.
Questions and answers, organizing schedules, and many other tasks.
What do you need to qualify?
- Experience in administration, preferably within a non-profit or community environment.
- You must have strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Clear written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
- You must know how to use email platforms, spreadsheets, and document tools.
- General personal computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Deaf community protocols, accessibility and ASL (not required to know ASL).

This job will have a hybrid option: work in person or stay at home depending on GVAD’s needs.
Work hours vary. Sometimes evenings, weekends or daytime hours depending on meetings and events.
This role requires a lot of flexibility and professionalism.

Specifically – finances and support.
This is a paid position.
It’s a short term, summer job.
You will report to the Treasurer and the GVAD Board.
What will you do?
- Focus on supporting the Treasurer and the Board.
- Cleaning up non-profit financial records.
- Bookkeeping systems.
- This role ensures that the organization’s financial documentation is accurate, up to date, and well-organized.
- The future accountant will assist with data entry, reconciliation, document organization, improvements to accounting software, and reporting processes.
This position is good for people who have accounting skills and bookkeeping experience.
