International Outsider Art exhibit opens July 31 at Outsiders and Others!

Outsiders and Others Art Society is excited to share with Vancouver a collection of works by outsider artists from Canada and beyond. This exhibit is an opportunity to learn about the genre of Outsider Art by viewing works by some artists that are respected in the field.

July 16th Music & Disability with Dave Symington

The session will be held on Zoom, July 16th, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. PST. Email laur.stinson@gmail.com  for the login information.    

We would like to invite you to our upcoming Disabled Community Connection Network (DCCN) session on the topic of “Music and Disability” This session will feature Dave Symington, he has had a disability (C5-6 quadriplegic) since a diving accident in 1975. He has been involved in disability advocacy, program and service development, and community integration for almost 40 years. He has worked extensively in the post-secondary education system as a special education coordinator, service provider, policy driver, and awareness and team builder. Dave co-founded the Vancouver Adapted Music Society with Sam Sullivan some 30 years ago. He sits on numerous boards and committees and is very active in sexual health advocacy, music, sailing, and travel.

This is part of the North Shore Disability Resource Centre’s group the Disabled Community Connection Network (DCCN). DCCN  is a monthly communication and information group for people of all ages (16+) with any disability. This group is facilitated by and for people with disabilities.

Provincial Language Service (PLS) is excited to announce our first-ever Coordinator, Sign Language Service, to oversee the Provincial Medical Sign Language Interpreting Service stream of PLS.
