Kickstart Disability Arts & Culture is seeking artists in British Columbia who identify as living with
a disability for the possible inclusion in 10 x 5: Art and Disability, an artist talk featuring 10 artists.
These artists will each have 5 minutes to give a visual and oral presentation of their work. A short
Q&A will follow. There is no restriction to medium / artistic practice.
This is a paid opportunity. This event will take place Sunday October 25th 1:30pm – 3:00pm as
part of BC Culture Days.
The event will take place on Zoom. Participating Artists must have access to a personal computer
with webcam and reliable internet connection. ASL interpretation will be provided.
Applications must include:
– An artist CV or resume which includes your name, address, phone, email, website.
– a bio or statement that tells us something about yourself and being an artist.
– a maximum of 4 images of your work OR a short sample of your artistic practice (i.e.
written word, performance video, etc)
o List of artworks submitted including the title, size, and medium.
Deadline for submissions is Monday October 12th
Artists will be notified about the selection results by Friday October 16th.
Please note, Artists who have participated in previous years may apply but priority will be given to new artists.

It is FREE to apply, but to participate the artist must be a current member of Kickstart.
Membership ranges from $10-$20 annually, if you are experiencing barriers to accessing
membership, arrangements with Kickstart can be made.
