Shout Back Fest, an anarcha-feminist, queer, radical, anti-capitalist DIY music festival, ((is actively opposed to all forms of discrimination and oppression, and)) is committed to being inclusive and accessible to all.
To that end, Shout Back shall take appropriate measures to ensure full access and participation to folks who are deaf or hard-of-hearing by having ASL interpreters available at any selected Shout Back workshops, meet-ups and other activities over the course of the weekend. As interpreting services must be booked in advance, we ask that all community members RSVP to the workshops &/or meet-ups that they plan to attend at least a week in advance.
The need for an interpreter is created as much by the hearing person’s ignorance of sign language as by the Deaf person’s deafness; both people need an interpreter in order to communicate with each other.
