Hello BC Deaf Community,
The BCVRS, as well as DAANS in Nova Scotia, OVRSC, and CHS in Ontario and the Alberta AADVRS Task Force wrote letters requesting an extension.
The CRTC listened! Great news, we have a LITTLE BIT more time to submit our letters or videos to the CRTC to push for Video Relay Services (VRS) in BC & Canada.
See CRTC posting: http://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2013/2013-155-1.htm
At this time there are TWO DAYS LEFT for you to write or post videos to support VRS in BC & Canada.
Please write your letters(or ASL videos) of support by 4:00pm. PST, 8pm. EST Monday May 27th.
There are four ways to submit a letter. All letters must have the words: RE: Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2013-155, File Numbers 8665-C12-201303536 and 8665-C12-200807943.
If you don’t know how, or need support to do this, then:
1) Instructions for this in both paper & video format are available by going to: http://bcvrs.ca/2013/05/step-by-step-instructions
2) We will do the LAST drop-in session on Friday May 24, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00pm. at VCC-Broadway in Room 2557.
3) Please e-mail kim@bcvrs.ca and BCVRS will help with your letter or video submission.
Thank you to the support of VCC’s ASL & Deaf Studies Department for their support and letting us use rooms at VCC.
