The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) is pleased to announce that the World Report on Disability made by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank is now available in International Sign. The World Report on Disability was published by the WHO and the World Bank in 2011. The Report includes information on lives of persons with disabilities with recommendations for different stakeholders.
WFD President Colin Allen believes that it is an international breakthrough to have the World Report on Disability available in International Sign. Allen congratulates the WHO for their commitment ensuring the report was translated and available in International Sign – an initiative that benefits WFD Ordinary Members in 133 countries.
The World Report on Disability is currently available in several languages and in various formats to ensure accessibility. The International Sign version along with versions in different languages and formats is available at
