What position?
Social Media Assistant

What to do?

  • Maintenance
  • Making flyers, posters to our videos.
  • Making descriptions, transcripts and upload it.
  • Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, website — platforms we post on!
  • Some people prefer to receive information via email. People who don’t use social media or website — better to email them.
  • Upload events information and announcements.
  • Do fixes, edit videos and other media.

Hourly rate is $21, approximately 30 hours per week.
But weekly hours vary, it depends on how busy we are.
The more requests, the more work.

You can work from home? You can make and upload ASL videos.

Exciting news, GVAD is hiring now!
For what? Summer jobs.

Now I will explain one position, named IT Support Specialist.
How much pay? $21 per hour.
1 week of work, 30 hours. 9 weeks of work in total.

What to do?

  • Focus on GVAD technical support.
  • Help Board members, volunteers, and staff.

How do daily duties look like?

Here’s a list of explanations:

  • Computer maintenance.
  • Help with phones, laptops, computers, software.
  • Solve problems with tech.
  • Management of email accounts, account setup, or password change.
  • Organizing shared mailboxes.
  • Update GVAD’s website with new content, events, announcements, information.
  • Ensuring the site works properly and is accessible.
  • Support meetings and events.
  • Set up projectors, screens, laptops.
  • Connect things with systems.

As well, support online meetings:

  • Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet.
  • Help with managing rooms during meetings. Help with meeting recording.
  • Ensure accessibility is activated. Captions, interpreters are configured properly.
  • Support Google Drive, or cloud storage, file management, and storage organization.
  • Help the Board with meetings, elections, events.
  • Set up simple guidelines and trainings for the team on how to use technologies.

We are looking for people who are comfortable, know a lot about IT, have strong problem-solving skills, good organizational skills, and responsible.
Can explain clearly, and communicate transparently.
Occasional work on evenings or weekends may be required.
This role is a mix of remote and in-person work.
