ASL: Music and Collective Access 2026

Music and Collective Access Symposium
February 27-28, 2026 | 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

The registration tab can be found at the top of the website; just click and go in to fill out the form.This event is offered in-person and online on Zoom simultaneously.

Go ahead and register; there is no cost to the registration.

Deaf and hearing presenters will be there, and there will be ASL Interpretation and Captions as well.

The symposium will offer performances, workshops and lectures, led by specialists, scholars and performers from across Canada, and will provide a forum for claiming access as a collective responsibility, while thinking through the theoretical, practical, aesthetic, and educational questions that individual access needs present in performance and learning environments.

If you decide to participate in person, it will be at St. John’s College, UBC on the Vancouver campus, 2111 Lower Mall. The site is easily and comfortably accessible for senior citizens and people with physical limitations. The nearby parking is right around the corner at the UBC West Parkdale, 2140 Lower Mall.

If you prefer to participate online on Zoom, the Zoom link will be shared when the symposium dates are closing in.
