What?
Pow Wow Grand Entry with ASL Interpretation
Description:
You are invited to our 3rd annual Reclaiming Youth powwow on the grounds of the former Saint Mary’s Residential School in Mission, BC. This pow-wow is hosted by VYPER – Visionary Youth Peers for Equity & Revitalization. VYPER is a youth-governed group for urbanized and non-urbanized Indigenous youth in the provincial BC area to foster the revitalization and adaptation of Indigenous culture for all First peoples across Turtle Island. Come celebrate culture, music, dance, and healing with us this summer! This is a contest powwow with dance contests, dance specials, a princess pageant, a little warriors contest, and a drum contest. ASL interpretation will be available for the Saturday night session, sponsored by the Mayday Club Youth Choir for Neurodiversity.
