Town Hall Meeting October 21st

On October 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.,
a Deaf Community Town Hall Meeting will be held.

Deaf citizens, parents of Deaf children, professionals working with the Deaf, and any other interested persons are welcome to attend.

The topic will be about getting an apology from the International Congress on Education of the Deaf (ICED) for its 1880 Milan resolution banning the sign languages from schools for the Deaf around the world.

There is a movement within our Vancouver area to demand an apology from the ICED. The Canadian Association of the Deaf is aware of it. The Deaf Bilingualism Coalition in the U.S. is aware of it. They are depending on us in Vancouver to get the ICED to apologize.

Come and participate.

Give us your ideas as to what should be included in the apology.

 Education.

 Employment.

Deaf Culture.

Everyday living.

The townhall meeting will be at Room 2201 at Douglas College, New Westminster, on October 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.

You will not regret attending this important meeting!
