Rae-Mairi Richardson-Fandrakis: Nu Nu Hello My heart goes to BLM. Before we start this vlog, I am part of Indigenous from Nova Scotia and I grew up by Coastal Salish. We like to be aware and acknowledge our land that we find it value, love and honour. We recognized our creator that provides us here on their unceded land of Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam, Squamish and Coast Salish. We are use here on unceded land of Coastal Salish people to share their resource to live, work, play and share our love with you all. We Heart You BLMj and Indigenous live matters.
Forrest: We, board members at Greater Vancouver Association of the Deaf, recognize ongoing protests across North America.
Joel: We recognize and acknowledge all members within GVAD and the Deaf community. Our community is very diverse, including visual and non-visual minorities.
Tammy: This news is painful and upsetting. We do not support racism, and we acknowledge our white privilege.
Jonathan: We recognize the centuries long oppression placed on our indigenous people and Black people, caused by our ancestors and our systems built on racism.
Joel for Imran: They are unjust and needs to be reversed. Nowadays, it’s everyone’s responsibility to ensure we advocate on behalf of Black people.
Jessie: With so much going on in this world right now, we are sending everyone love. We see you. We hear you. We feel you. We stand with you.
