ASL Research Study

I am currently a Master’s student in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Queen’s University. A fellow student and I have developed an online questionnaire (5-10 minutes in length) to help us with our research. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to post a link to this survey on your website. The survey information is shown below:

We are seeking participants to respond to a brief online survey. The purpose of the survey is to determine if there is a need and desire amongst members of the Deaf community for a wearable ASL-to-English interpretation device. We will be doing a draw for four $25 Amazon gift cards after the survey closes!

You are eligible to participate in this survey if any of the following three statements describe you:

  • You are a Deaf, hard of hearing, deafened, or non-verbal person who is proficient in both ASL and English.
  • You regularly interact with a member of the Deaf community (e.g. a family relation or friend).
  • You provide services that are targeted primarily towards Deaf people (e.g. schoolteachers, accessibility consultants, sign language interpreters).

Participants must be at least 12 years of age to participate. If you are the parent or guardian of a child aged 12-15, your consent is required for your child to complete the survey. The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. Links to the survey can be found below:
