BC Accessibility Legislation UPDATE – November 12

Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind Community Roundtable on BC Accessibility Legislation Framework Feedback

You are invited to participate in a community meeting to provide feedback into legislation and to explore ways to build a better B.C. for Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, LGBTQIA2 Deaf, Deaf Seniors, Deaf+ and many more.

Tuesday, November 12 @  6-8:30pm

GVAD Hub – 530 Columbia St., New Westminster

Roundtable hosted by GVAD, facilitated by BC Deaf Community representative Alayna Finley with the support of Deaf community champions.

While Canada has passed the Accessible Canada Act with ASL, LSQ, and Indigenous Sign Languages recognized as the primary languages of Deaf Canadians, this legislation is federal. We need ASL recognized on a provincial level, plus other Deaf accessibility rights recognized in BC accessibility legislation.
