Empower U: Learn to Access Your Deaf Rights & Disability Rights. Training on Canadian Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of Person with Disabilities (CRPD) and its Optional Protocol (OP)
About this Training
This training aims to increase awareness of how to address discrimination using more familiar Canadian human rights laws, such as Human Rights Codes, and the newer laws, such as international Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). This is the training for Deaf people, and for persons with all disabilities. The training is part of the project funded by the Employment and Social Development Canada, and it is implemented by the Canadian Association of the Deaf – Association des Sourds du Canada (CAD-ASC) in collaboration with Council of Canadians with Disabilities (CCD), Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW), ARCH Disability Law, DisAbled Women’s Network, and BC Aboriginal Network on Disability Society (BCANDS).
