We are seeking two deaf actors, who are fluent in ASL, for a project shooting in Vancouver, during November or early December, for 1 day. Since we are looking specifically for deaf actors who can communicate with ASL, we are open to seeing people who do not have previous acting experience, for the following roles:
YOUNG BOY, ages 7-9, deaf, he has an emotional session with his social worker, with whom he communicates in ASL. Ideally he will have brown or dark brown hair, and brown eyes. We are open to seeing boys who look 7, but could be as old as 10, if they’re small. The role has some cursing in ASL, so parents should be comfortable with the material.
SOCIAL WORKER, female, Latinx, 45-60, this social worker communicates with the YOUNG BOY, and tries to give him some words of encouragement.
