Decolonize & Anti-Oppression Workshop
Organized and taking place on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, which include the x?m??kw?y??m (Musqueam), S?wx?wú7mesh (Squamish), and s?l?ilw?ta?? (Tsleil-Waututh) nations (colonially known as Vancouver, Canada).
The Anti-Oppression Network & Friends For Life Society are proud to present a community awareness and capacity-building workshop for HIV+ people and the wider community. All are welcome.
Join us for a lightly facilitated discussion about:
– colonization from an Indigenous perspective within Canada
– anti-oppression terminology
– grassroots community organizing, meaningful solidarity building, & horizontal group/community structures

Safer Space Information:
This event is a safer space event. We insist attendees conduct themselves within decolonial and intersectional frameworks. Forms of fascists and supremacists are not welcome.
Accessibility Info:
– The building entrance, workshop space, and washrooms are wheelchair accessible.
– There are two single-stall, all gender washrooms right outside the workshop space, and multi-stalled gender washrooms around the corner on the main floor.
– This event will be a scent-reduced environment; refrain from wearing scented products the day before and during the event. This includes perfumes, lotions, hair products, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, etc.
– ASL interpretation has been secured for this event.
– If you require an EMF-reduced space, please contact us as soon as possible; if needed, an EMF-reduced space will be created as well as a space for people who require using their cell phone for access purposes.
