My name is Somang Nam. I am a Ph.D. student in Industrial Engineering,
University of Toronto and I work at the Inclusive Media & Design
Centre, Ryerson University.
My research is to develop a subjective quality assessment method for
live Closed Captioning (CC) which can reflect Deaf or Hard of Hearing
(D/HoH) viewer opinions while automating the assessment procedure.
I am writing this email to recruit D/HoH caption viewers for an online
survey and it would be appreciated if I could get some help from you.
The survey will ask a brief demographics about the experiences of live
CC and to rate the quality of captions in several short (~20 sec)
video clips.
It can take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete the survey and
participants will receive a small honorarium upon completion ($10 CAD).
I have attached the image poster that can go with the study
advertisement post (at the end of this email) and a weblink for study
