
WBP is pleased to partner with BC Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf (BCRAD) and Queer ASL to provide a workshop:
Understanding the Deaf LGBTQ Community – Becoming an Ally!
Description: This workshop will aim for participants greater understanding about the Deaf LGBTQ community with topics such as:
learning about queer and transgender identities
queer vocabulary – their signs and what they mean
understanding when you can use or not use vocabulary
creating safer spaces for LGBTQ in the Deaf community
where to access queer services
There will be opportunities for interactive and open discussions and to get your questions answered in a safe environment in the workshop.
