REQUEST TO MAKE AN “ORAL” (SIGNED) PRESENTATION

  1. The Canadian Association of the Deaf (CAD) respectfully requests two representatives (Frank Folino, President effectively on July 14, 2013 and Jim Roots, Executive Director) to appear to make an “oral” (actually signed) presentation at the public hearing in Gatineau. We would like to present our key messages and recommendations on a national Video Relay Service (VRS). CAD, as in previous public hearings, wishes to make reply comments and address any concerns or questions that the Commission may have.

SUMMARY

  1. Canadian Association of the Deaf is in support of the Commission requiring the provision of VRS on a national basis for both the English/ASL and French/LSQ communities.   CAD has reviewed and participated in the Mission Consulting Feasibility Study which has been filed as part of these proceedings and is in general support of the findings and recommendations presented therein.
