GVAD – Greater Vancouver Association of the Deaf, an organization running strong since 1926.
The board, elected in March 2019, overcame many unexpected challenges.
Do you see the new office behind me? Yes, we moved to a new location, here in Surrey, temporarily.
We hope you will come to support our vision at the AGM on Saturday, October 5th. Yes, the AGM, Annual General Meeting, can be boring, but this one is very important. We need your support for our vision. More details will be shared at the AGM. Once the AGM is concluded, we will go upstairs to have our traditional Cornfest Party, but on a smaller scale.
It will be hosted by Canadian Deaf Youth Leadership Camp (CDYLC). They are hosting camp here in Vancouver in 2020. It’s a fundraising party. There will be a fee for the party. GVAD members will pay $10.00, while non-members GVAD will pay $20.00. Prior to entering the AGM, you will be asked to register.
Please note there are some changes to membership fees.
Youth between the ages of 19-30 will pay a year membership of $20.00, those from 31-54 will pay $30 for the same membership, and $15 for 55+.
We need YOUR support. For for? I wish I can share details now, but please come to the AGM to learn more about the details!
We look forward to sharing them with you! By the way, bingo on October 19th, which has been previously announced, has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Rest assured, bingo will happen in the near future. We anticipate more than two Bingos a year. It will work out, eventually.
