ASL Signing Support Workers

We are looking for one or two kind, responsible, reliable, friendly, non-smoking people to provide part time support to a Deaf individual who lives a life of dignity in Duncan. We have an opening coming up in September with some paid orientation time in August.
Responsibilities include:
*Provide tactful and relaxed practical support
*Background coaching focused on accomplishing activities of daily living,
*Participating in Deaf and Hearing community events,
*Participating in gentle leisure, recreation and social adventures
Essential qualifications:
*Sign and understand ASL at an intermediate level or better
*Clear criminal record check
*Valid drivers license with a safe driving history.
*Prefer support workers who have their own computer and/or mobile phone and are comfortable with email, text messaging, and video conferencing.
*Familiar with and comfortable with Deaf culture
Hours:
The individual mainly requires support afternoons 4-5 hours per day. We may hire one person to work 5 afternoons per week (Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Saturday) We may share these 30 to 35 hours per week between two people.
Rate of pay:
$12 to $17 per hour depending on your education and experience.
