Further to the CRTC videoconferences that took place last Friday, we would like to provide clarification about two questions that were raised, as below:
What is the process for the ASL Director and the LSQ Director to choose the Third DHH Director?
No formal process has been established for the ASL Director and the LSQ Director to choose the Third DHH Director
Once the ASL Director and the LSQ Director have been elected, they will meet to jointly choose the Third DHH Director
The ASL Director and the LSQ Director may consider any individual who meets the eligibility criteria associated with the Third DHH Director position
It is not necessary to have been nominated for either the ASL Director position or the LSQ Director position to be considered for the Third DHH Director position
If you are interested in being considered for the Third DHH Director position, you should advise either the ASL Director or the LSQ Director once they have been elected
Will a person who works for a VRS provider be eligible to serve as a Permanent Invitee?
Yes. As Permanent Invitees will not be Directors and will not be voting on matters before the Board of Directors, being affiliated with a VRS provider will not prevent an individual from acting as a Permanent Invitee, provided that the individual discloses their affiliation with the VRS Provider to the Board of Directors.
