BC Rockies Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ice Hockey Team

My name is David McGregor, I volunteer for the BC Rockies Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ice Hockey team.  We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a development camp for hockey players of all ages, gender and skill level.  This will be provided to all hearing levels as we welcome a fully inclusive environment for our players.  This is a safe place to learn to play or push your game to the next level.
Additionally, to get you an idea of our success we’ve had this year: we sent two teams to Winnipeg to compete at the Canada Deaf Games.  Both teams had a mix of deaf and hard of hearing players.  Our teams came second and third!  We look forward to building off this success and pursue our goal for gold.  At the same time, we enjoy the social environment with all of our deaf and hard of hearing players.
Here’s a short video highlighting two of our leaders who would be involved in the camp:
Please do not hesitate to contact me or Shawn Mayzes for more information.
See the attached flyer.
Thank you!
David McGregor

GVDBC 10 Pin Deaf Bowling League 2018-2019

Anyone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing is welcome. We accept teams of 3 or more bowlers and need at least 15 bowlers to run the league.
We will play 6 games total, on Saturdays each month. In October we will play twice: October 13 and 20. Then we will play once monthly on the following dates: November 3, December 1, January 5 and February 2. We only bowl for 5 months, or 24 weeks. This is shorter than most leagues in Metro Van- couver. The team will have more than one chance to make it into the final playoffs in February. Feb- ruary playoff dates will be announced later. The cost is $22.00 for 6 games, which includes prizes every month, and it will be collected before each game starts.
Join us for a short meeting on Saturday, October 13th, 2018 at 9:00 AM before our first set of games at Revs Bowling Centre (next to Holdom Skytrain Station).
Please be sure to call and reserve your spot now – even if you cannot attend the October 13th ses- sion. If you will not be able to come, you have to roll off beforehand on your own time and pay for it even if you miss the games.
League play begins Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Deaf people with a disability are welcome to play. They will play 3 games instead of 6. The dates are the same as above. The cost will be $11.00 for 3 games including prizes per month. Please note: you are required to have someone with you at all times.
We will have many exciting events!
• Provincial 10 Pin Deaf Bowling Playdown
• National Deaf Championships
• Travelling to USA for North West Bowling Association of the Deaf (NWBAD) tournament in March. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact:
