Tubing and Picnic in Penticton, BC
August 28th ,2010
1pm to dusk

Tubing/Floating at 1pm sharp for group of 12+ to get a discount $8.00 if late pay $10.00  (floating lasts for 1 ¼ to 1 ½ hours from Okanagan Lake to Skaha Lake thru Penticton River Channel  (Riverside Dr and Burnaby Ave across from Day Inn)

If you bring your own tube will pay only $3.00 or $5.00

Garbage Can Art Contest
Granville Island in the courtyard next to the Public Market
Vancouver, BC
Sunday, September, 26, 11 to 3 pm
After 3, the garbage cans are auctioned off

Twenty-five artists will take part in the four hours of creative madness, turning plain metal garbage cans, provided by the event sponsor, Granville Island Ferries (www.granvilleislandferries.bc.ca), into works of art.

The artists provide their time, their art supplies and their great ideas! Granville Island Ferries supplies the garbage cans, tents, water, power and sheltered areas for spray-painting. To keep the artists and …crowds in a holiday mood, Celtic music is provided throughout the afternoon by the popular Vancouver band Blackthorn (www.blackthornband.com).

Collectibles are auctioned off by broadcast personality Dave Abbott to raise funds to purchase supplies for the art therapy programs at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital (www.bcchildrens.ca).

Song Translation Request

I am recording a song in English, Chinese and Spanish. I would also like to do the chorus in sign language for our video which we plan to promote worldwide. I need to connect with someone who could teach me/ show me how to do that. It is a Christian song, the chorus is relatively short so it wouldn’t be too difficult.

We are doing this for pure joy, there is no money involved.

I’m looking for someone to work with to translate the chorus.

Lola O’Keefe 1925 – 2010

Lola O’Keefe, beloved sister, cousin, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away quietly at the age of 85 years, on Sunday, August 8th, 2010 at the Evergreen Extended Care Unit in Powell River, B.C. with her son, daughter and niece by her side. Lola was born on April 10th, 1925 .
