Marie is survived by her son Robert and his family. Marie was active for many years at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vancouver and with “Helping Hands”.

At the WFD General Assembly including the 71 countires’ delegates, the WFD President announced that Canadian Association of the Deaf received the Vittorio Ieralla Award (only international award every four years) last night for the recognition and outstanding effort of BC Deaf Community and CAD on the ICED 2010 Vancouver New Era Document. The many delegates and WFD Board congratulated us and several delegates from Austria, Germany, and Hong Kong told me that they showed the New Era Document to their governments.

August 19-21, 2011 (weekend)

Near Whistler, BC

Cost: $260 per person (early bird deadline: August 1, 2011)

$300 per person after august 1

Out of province: $220 per person before August 1, $ 260 after

3 days, 2 nights at a beautiful retreat centre beside Daisy Lake surrounded by mountains and 40 acres of forest.
