Open Letter

Hello BC Deaf & Hard of Hearing friends,
GVAD Board send a letter to BC Minister of Ed, Premier of BC and Special Education Director plus other people. The letter criticized the Ministerial manual: Special Education Services: Manual of Policies, Procedure and Guidelines. GVAD is working for the betterment of Deaf Education for Deaf children in B.C.

Pet Expo is a 2-day consumer tradeshow that is open to the public. At the show you will find hundreds of pets, pet products, service providers, entertainers, clubs and organizations that cater to pets. This is the ninth year for this event.

The show strives to include all types of pets, anything from dogs & cats, to reptiles and other small caged exotics. All of these animals can be seen on-site during the show for you to interact with!

Participate at our Show & Tell Theatre as well as learn about your pet’s needs in our Seminar & Lecture theatre. Ongoing throughout the show these areas will be sure to entertain, enlighten and educate you and your whole family!

Pet Expo is a consumer show. That means that it is created for the public (that means you!). The retailers, breeders, associations and service providers are there specifically to meet you and answer your questions.

PNE, Pacific National Exhibition 2901 East Hastings Street, Vancouver.

March 9 and 10, Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 6 and 11 to 5.

Adults: $9
Seniors / Students: $7
Children 12 and under: free

Richard’s Celebration of Life

Richard Rupert Monkman, 63, born July 12th, 1949 from Prince Rupert, BC passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his partner, Donna Scoular, his two children, Jessica and Marvin and his sister, Julie. Richard attended the Jericho Hill School for the Deaf, University Hill High School and Gallaudet College. His many friends throughout his life from Vancouver and Toronto will remember his cheerful spirit and genuine loving acceptance of everyone. Those of us fortunate enough to have known him towards the end of his life witnessed the value of love, friendship and family.
