You are invited to come to the
Fair in the Square!
Sunday, June 1, 11 to 2 pm.
at
Victory Square, bordered by Hamilton,
Pender, Cambie and Hastings Streets, in Vanouver, BC
For the past seven years, Central City Foundation and Vancouver Community College have partnered together to host Fair in the Square, a free community concert, celebration and BBQ located in Victory Square Park at Cambie and West Pender across from the downtown campus of Vancouver Community College. While VCC faculty, students and staff volunteer to cook and distribute free BBQ chicken burgers fresh off the grill along with chips, juice and all the cupcakes you can eat! Central City Foundation plans and co-ordinates a fabulous concert featuring a wide breadth of music performed from the Event Stage. In addition, about 30 non-profit agencies, organizations and social enterprises, set-up tables around the perimeter of the park to display their wares, distribute information and provide interactive fun to fair participants. This is a really fantastic community celebration of neighbours helping neighbours during which we annually host about 3000 guests. We are continuing to grow this fair and we are adding more activities to engage and connect all of our neighbours in the city.
