Seeking: Community Connector
Planned Lifetime Advocacy Network is an organization built on the belief that through networks we can help families provide for peace of mind: in building a safe and connected life for our family and friends with a disability, we create a sense of belonging that has benefits for us all.
We are looking a Community Connector to build a network of friends and supporters around a wonderful young man who is deaf and uses American sign language. Â The right person for this job is proficient in American sign language, has knowledge of the deaf community and is able to communicate well in both the deaf and hearing communities.
We are looking for someone who:
- works well with families
- has strong facilitation skills
- is able to fade into the background and let others shine
- is good at planning activities
- has gifts at planning and hosting events
- understands how to intentionally build relationships
- understands how to build connections in community
- is organized and able to work well independently
- is naturally able to see the gifts and abilities in people
- is excited about putting an end to social isolation
This work is……
- VERY part-time (6 hours per month), with flexible work hours
- Current criminal record check required
- Minimum one year commitment
- Basic computer and internet skills are a must
- Use of a vehicle and driver’s license is preferred
- The starting contract wage is $22.00 per hour
