Granger on CBC News New Brunswick

0

Granger is on the last part of his Canada World Youth Canada program part in Fredericton (been there 3 months) and then he goes to Ghana Africa on Dec.9 (for another 3 months) .He was on the CBC news in New Brunswick tonight and we watched him on the internet (I will give the link below; but maybe only on tonight). When you play it back, do you know how to save it…I can’t seem to save (I was going to send the video to our family). If you can save it, people on your Deaf may be interested in seeing it but the captioning does not work on my computer (lots of signing in the back ground and has Carl Brown who is Grangers home stay parent signing and Granger signing). The link is http://www.cbc.ca/newsatsixnb/crew.html then click on ‘0n demand” under media and ‘latest newscast’ move time curser to 15:33 to the start of the segment (the newscast probably only works tonight).
Submitted by: Gord Campbell (Granger’s father) last Thursday.

Editor: Unsuccessfully, I could not save streaming segment that night. I watched it and I am so proud of Granger (he is from Hornby Island).

2010 Legacies: Focus Group

0

Hello,

On behalf of 2010 Legacies Now, Ipsos-Reid would like to gather the opinions from travellers who are deaf / hearing impaired. To do so, we are conducting a mini-Focus Group with people at 6pm, Monday December 8th at a downtown location. This is part of a greater project where we have also interviewed respondents who are in wheelchairs, as well as those who have a sight-impairment. The key purpose for this aspect of the research is to understand the different needs of people who are deaf/hearing impaired when it comes to travelling, from researching a leisure trip, to travelling to the destination, to enjoying the attractions and activities once you have arrived there.

If your primary method of communication is American Sign Language (ASL) and you have travelled at least one time in the past year away from home and stayed in paid accomodation, we would be interested in hearing from you. The session will last for approximately 2 hours, and you will be paid $100 for your participation. Please contact Marcel at marcel.perro@ipsos.com with your name, and daytime phone number. We will then make contact with you to arrange participation.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards

Ipsos-Reid
