Parent Workshop: Becoming Involved with Advocacy

Cecelia Klassen (Family Network for Deaf Children) and Paige Thombs (Deaf Access Office) will talk about parent advocacy in different contexts.

This will include more than educational advocacy – also advocacy and access in other areas of a deaf child’s life and a child of a deaf parent’s life.

Cecelia has a great deal of experience and information to share from her own journey as a mother of a deaf child, and Paige is an amazing resource person and support with advocacy and access.

The movie is fully in ASL, in every single part of the movie! It is captioned for hearing people. The film lets hearing people to experience the Deaf World!

Tickets are sold at the Door, and only costs $10.

**Doors open at 6:30pm, Movie starts at 7:00pm**

Lots free parking in front of theatre. Also short walk from Royal Oak skytrain station.

National Deaf Volleyball and Basketball Championships

There will be National Deaf Championships in May 2010 in Edmonton, Alberta.  

 If you are interested in participating ~ please reply by Friday November 20th by E-mail and also inform to Sports Director, Paul Landry.    His email is plandry@bcdeafsports.bc.ca .

BCDSF would like to know if we have enough players to form a team for Men Basketball, Men Volleyball, and Women Volleyball.
