Annual Deaf-BlindWorkshop2015September19TRANSITSAFETY2

Hello Deaf-Blind community,

The WBP is pleased to announce that we have changed the workshop topic for the afternoon part of the Deaf-Blind workshop on
September 19, 2015.

From 1:00 – 3:00pm., we will have TRANSIT SAFETY workshop provided by BC’s Transit Police. GVAD and the WBP felt it was an important topic to provide for Deaf-Blind community members sooner rather than later. We will reschedule the “What is Psychotherapy?” workshop for the Deaf-Blind audience in the near future.

Thank you to the GVAD for bringing this topic to our attention.

Please see updated flyer in attachment for more details of this presentation. If you want me to pull out the text from the PDF and paste in e-mail, please let me know.

Please let us know you will be coming BEFORE SEPTEMBER 4th, so we can make sure we have enough interpreters for everyone.

The improv troupe Whistling Kettle is in the Victoria 2015 Fringe Festival with our show The Other Side of Alive! This is our first Fringe Fest, and our most personal show yet!

We use the humour and creativity of improv to produce an honest and compelling show that will start the conversation about “The Other Side of Alive”. It’s the kind of show that will tug your heart strings, tickle your funny bone and maybe even activate your tear ducts!I would really appreciate if you could help spread the word about our show, we are excited to be featuring the support of an ASL Interpreter on September 5th, and to continue with our journey of working to create more accessible artistic spaces.

A little about PEB 2015:

The Project EveryBODY Series led by Open Door Group, is a campaign driven by a collaboration of various community organizations, businesses and the City of Vancouver.  The project’s intended impact is to promote an “inclusive Vancouver” through providing high profile opportunities that truly showcase and celebrate the talents of persons with disabilities through arts and culture, employment, social connection and recreational opportunities.

Take note of the Project Everybody event series:

The four events lead up to a HUGE celebration on December 3rd, at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre in recognition of the UN designated International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
