Service Canada – Pilot Project
Personalized Service Delivery for Persons with Disabilities

Service Canada wants to serve you better.

Starting in February until June, Service Canada Project staff will assist Deaf and Hard of Hearing people with direct services. Service Canada staff will come to WIDHH every second and fourth Monday and Tuesday of each month. Monday mornings from 9:30am – 12:30pm Hard of Hearing people will be served. Tuesday afternoons from 1:30pm – 4:30pm Deaf people will be served and ASL Interpreters will be provided.

You will be able to fill out the following application forms with assistance from Service Canada staff:

Inuit Sign Language is Recognized

For the first time, deaf Inuit followed proceedings in the Nunavut legislative assembly Tuesday, thanks to interpreters who translated the debates into a new Inuit sign language that is in the process of being documented.

American Sign Language and CART Captioning

American Sign Language interpretation of the performance.

Nigel Howard will be teaching workshop for Deaf Interpreters at
Douglas College in CTELL Lab on 4th Floor.

Total 30 hours of DI Training and you will get certificate of
attendance from WAVLI.

Level 1 COST: $200
March 6 (6pm-9pm)
March 7 (9am-4pm)
March 8 (9am-2pm)

Level 2 COST: $200
March 20 (6pm-9pm)
March 21 (9am-4pm)
March 22 (9am-2pm)

If you register for BOTH Level 1 and Level 2 cost will be $300 (Save
$100). Please email WAVLI.PD@GMAIL.COM for information about the
workshops and how you can register. Need minimum 10 people registered
to go ahead with workshops. DEADLINE is Feb 21st.
