MONTREAL, QC – July 26, 2010 –
The Board of Directors of the Canadian
Deaf Sports Association are pleased to announce the 2011 Deaflympics in
High Tatras, Slovakia have been reinstated, after recently being cancelled by
the International Committee for Sports for the Deaf.
The 2011 Deaflympics will be held February 18- 26, 2011 in High Tatras,
Slovakia. The CDSA is anticipating a full team component for the S2011
Games with representation in hockey, curling, alpine skiing, snowboarding.
Kathy Russell, Chef de Mission for Team Canada states,
“This is great news
for all Deaf Canadians who have been training hard to compete at the 2011
Deaflympics. We are honored to be able to participate and I am excited to
continue planning for this prestigious event”.
