ASL Workshop Presenter Wanted – Volunteer

Howe Sound Rehabilitation Services Society hosts an adult day drop-in centre for adults with acquired brain injuries called Headway Centre Vancouver.

Once a month they hold Community Connections Workshops for their members. These
workshops consist of people from the community coming in and presenting/educating our members on various topics. Previously, they have had employment services, leisure services, and people from the aboriginal community come in and present.

Recently their members have expressed an interest in having someone from the
deaf community come in a facilitate an basic ASL session.  We would be interested in someone volunteering their time to facilitate such a workshop sometime next month

More Information:

1) We are located at West 6th and Fir street. 320-1600 West 6th in
Vancouver.
2) Our workshops are usually at the end of each month and usually run from
1-2pm.
3) Since we are a drop-in centre it’s hard to confirm how many participants
will be here, but it usually ranges from 5-10 people.
4) They are a non profit organization so it would be on a volunteer basis.

We would really appreciate it if we could set up a workshop for sometime in March. Thanks so much for your response and hope to hear from you soon!

Please email: vandeaf@telus.net if you are interested in hosting this mini-workshop
