PLS Consultation meeting— Transcript vlog

GVAD President, Kimberly Wood in her Black top with white scarf.

Hello everyone, I m here to let everyone in Deaf Community, as well reminding everyone about upcoming this Friday. The Provincial Language Services is having an Consultation meeting at their building, starts at 6:30 pm, this Friday, February 16th in Burnaby. Their address is 1795 Willingdon Ave. Try to be there before 6:30, like at 6:15 to get ur seating and be ready before meeting starts.

The PLS hired that consultation firm called Delaney+ Associations, they want to meet with us members of the Deaf community, in purpose of gathering our feedbacks related to our needs in the medical field. They want to understand what are our values, and our needs towards Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf Blind to help them develop centre based approach for services in the Provincial of B.C. for medical interpreting services.

PLEASE COME TO THIS MEETING, they wanted to limit the audience to 15 people, but I told them it wouldn’t be good idea, and think it should be open to deaf community and please let me know if you are coming so I can let them know how many people to expect.

This Friday is our LAST opportunity to give them our feedbacks in what we really want for our medical interpreting services in the province of B.C. Really important to tell them what you see needs to be improved, or what is not satisfactory to you. We need to show them that we do cherish our Medical Interpreting Services.

If you have any questions or want know more, please feel free to contact me at gvadpresident@gmail.com.

I also wanted to let you all know that there will be an survey coming out that we have to go through and will give out the link to the survey when it’s ready. Do the survey and let them know and emphasis how MIS means to us as it’s related to our health. This is important.

Again, if any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact me anytime.
